The cycle of meetings

Threats to the Rule of Law! is an international series of talks to analyze the major challenges facing contemporary democracies. Globally and in Europe, the rise of populism and authoritarian regimes is weakening the rule of law, redefining power dynamics, and testing the very foundations of our societies. This series, moderated by journalist Salomé Saqué and initiated by Le Carreau du Temple , offers six key events to decipher the mechanisms at play: extreme polarization, distrust of institutions, attacks against minorities, transformation of the media landscape, and the instrumentalization of identities.

The ambition is to bring together intellectuals, researchers and civil society actors in dialogue to understand these dynamics and explore democratic antidotes, such as media education, citizen participation or social justice.

The Carreau du Temple wishes to include this cycle in a network of partnerships with European cultural venues, with one meeting per month, linking Paris with another European capital or major city.

Salomé Saqué , an economic and political journalist, works on topics such as ecology, social justice, women's rights, youth, and warns of the danger of the rise of the far right.
