In a poignant one-woman show, which is as much autofiction as a manifesto, Laurène Marx uses her raw writing to tell the story of trans identity and its ability to overturn norms.

With her powerful writing and moving stage presence, actress, author, and director Laurène Marx burst onto the theater scene in 2022 with Pour un temps sois peu (For a Time, Be Little), and hasn't left since. Straddling the line between monologue and "sad stand-up," this poignant story recounts the journey of a trans woman, interweaving accounts of micro- and macro-aggressions, symbolic violence, and questions about romantic relationships and society's perception of trans identity and non-binary identities.

A manifesto for putting the voices of trans people back at the center, this autofiction aims to challenge a narrative long shaped by the fantasies of those not directly affected. Firmly seated behind her microphone, Laurène Marx speaks directly to the audience, armed with an incisive and honest style, to undermine the gender, sex, and class constructs that govern society.
