PERFORMISSIMA 3

The Wallonia-Brussels/Paris Centre, aka the Ship, presents the 3rd edition of PERFORMISSIMA, an international festival of live arts, which will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, from noon to midnight.

Prototypical and deliberately undisciplined, PERFORMISSIMA asserts itself as an invitation to collective experience and distinguishes itself by its way of inhabiting time differently.

A constellation of forms and encounters, the festival asserts itself as a polyphony of impetuous acts, an ode to the performing arts in their most unpredictable and audacious aspects.

Co-produced with a network of international and cultural institutions based in Paris, PERFORMISSIMA outlines a contemporary transnational map of the plural regimes of performativity.

Alongside some fifteen artists based in Brussels and Wallonia, thirty international artists from around ten countries are coming together to explore new forms, to say, do and act differently.

"In a world that tends to normalize, to anesthetize, to control, PERFORMISSIMA offers dissonance, surprise, drift," writes Gianni Forte.

It is this energy of poetic resistance that PERFORMISSIMA seeks to provoke: a celebration of unruly forms, a call to total experience, to kinesthetic, visual and sonic extravagance.
