Les Traversées du Marais au CWB|Paris

Conceived in collaboration with the Mange tes mots collective, this evening forges connections between the contemporary Belgian and French poetry scenes through practices that consider language as a space for experimentation, relationship, and transformation. Words are never mere vehicles of meaning: they become material for performance, sharing, and movement. They carry the memories, conflicts, emotions, and imaginaries that permeate bodies as much as narratives.

Starting in the afternoon, artist Eloïse Tabouret activates Crève $@!0?€, a participatory and discursive protocol taking the form of a board game open to the public. Conceived as a manifesto in progress, devoid of authorship, the unique protocol presents itself as a collaborative space where speech reveals the tensions, contradictions, and powers of reappropriation and stance-taking that permeate language. The exchanges become a shared resource, destined to be reactivated, transcribed, and then extended in a published form.

In parallel, the Mange tes mots collective is offering a writing workshop informed by Eloïse Tabouret's research on lexical inventions and collective practices. Participants explore the shifts in language, experiment with its deviations, and develop texts that will find their first platform for expression during the open mic session.

As the evening unfolds, the writings leave the workshop space and take to the stage. The open mic initially welcomes texts and voices from the audience (registration required in advance with the collective), then expands into a program featuring three Belgian and two French authors. From the deeply embodied punk poetry of Bo Rainotte to the verbal scores of Olivia Tapiero, whose syntax fractures into sonic movement, by way of the hybrid forms of Jules Beurrier-Loncan, which weave connections between writing, musical composition, and performance, to the narratives of Raïssa Yowali, where questions of identity, memory, and lineage meet the stage, and to the plastic, baroque, and sensitive language of Mardi Forestier, where feeling precedes meaning, a constellation of contemporary writing emerges where the personal meets the political, where feeling is shared, and where language is invented in the very act of its utterance.

Echoing the Traversées du Marais festival , this evening transforms poetry into a space for encounter and experimentation. A journey where writings are shared, where voices respond to one another without resembling or assimilating, and where language rediscovers its capacity to carry new imaginaries and bring forth forms of collective life.
