Jann Halexander 'Confessions d'un Vampire Sud-Africain' (Théâtre) 31/10/26, Salons de Lord Phoebus, Paris

He looks like a man, but he is not a man...

2026. Pretorius Malan, a South African vampire, recounts his life to a group of anthropology students. Solitary, disillusioned, and cynical, he speaks of his life, his passionate affair with Dracula, his victims, and the upheavals in South African society from 1908 to the present day…

It was in January 2008 at the Vampire Museum near Paris that the public discovered the first vampire of African origin, Pretorius Malan, portrayed by the Franco-Gabonese singer-actor Jann Halexander. A cult monologue, presented in France, Belgium, and Germany, with nearly forty performances, notably around Halloween and most recently for a week at the Avignon Festival.

The public will be able to rediscover this character who recounts his encounter with Dracula and then his affair with Elizabeth de Bathory, manager of the Hotel Transylvania, near Cape Town. He alternates between drama and dark humor, reflecting on his condition as a non-human being and painting a scathing portrait of South African society, ravaged for decades by Apartheid.

Not suitable for those under 16 years of age.
