Festival [ frasq ] x Festival Jerk Off

As part of the [frasq] festival, a performance event, from October 3 to 24, 2026 at Le Générateur.

“An Olive Tree Neither East nor West” explores the possibilities of reappropriating and inventing Muslim ritual practices. Based on a proposal by Inès Geoffroy, artists Chams Barkaoui (Marseille) and Amen Allah Atrous (Tunis) draw on the spiritual traditions of Islam and attempt to experience collective transcendence. Inspired by the score of a Sufi ceremony, this performance unfolds in a space-time constructed from gestures, voices, and forms of hospitality. Through a queer reading that decenters the gaze, this space opens up other ways of traversing spiritual heritages, extending their gestures, and creating a shared experience. Lasting approximately three hours, the performance is conceived as a space punctuated by pauses, in which the audience is free to move about.

A new partner of the FRASQ Festival, the Jerk Off Festival – founded in 2007 – champions and celebrates the diversity of LGBTQIA+ communities through a multidisciplinary program dedicated to contemporary writing. Each year, it highlights artists who question norms, renew narratives, and open up new spaces for representation.
The festival celebrates plural identities, sometimes contradictory, but always united around a common goal: to foster a free, open, committed and inclusive culture, capable of challenging traditional and dominant representations.
For its 19th edition, from October 1st to 10th, 2026, the Jerk Off Festival will take over various venues in the Île-de-France region, offering a program blending performances, dance, theater, music, visual arts, and discussions. Through this diversity of forms, it affirms the need to support artistic practices that offer unique perspectives on the world and contribute to building a more just and inclusive culture.
